Dr. Brian Clarke

Dr. Brian D. Clarke was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana. He obtained his undergraduate degree in chemistry at Indiana University in Bloomington in 1981, where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa as a junior and received the Senior Award for the highest achievement. He attended Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society as a junior, graduating in 1985 with highest distinction. He completed his internal medicine residency at IU Medical Center in 1988 and his gastroenterology fellowship in 1990.

He is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He was in private practice in gastroenterology with Gastroenterology Associates at Community Hospitals in Indianapolis until 1994. He founded Gastroenterology Consultants in 1994 and practices today out of his Carmel office.

His practice's philosophy is formed by his Christian faith: to show genuine compassion to every patient and to provide them with the best gastroenterological care possible.

His interests and expertise in gastroenterology are quite broad. He is highly skilled in routine endoscopy and performs advanced procedures such as therapeutic ERCP, sphincter of Oddi manometry, percutaneous endoscopic jejunoscopy tubes, Barrett's esophagus ablation, and EMR (endoscopic mucosal resection). He pioneered bariatric GI endoscopy, providing training to other bariatric endoscopists. He offers videocapsule endoscopy through his Carmel office. He is skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory bowel disease and provides in-office Remicade infusion therapy. He is also skilled in hepatology, including the evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic liver diseases such as hepatitis C.
